We let's look at this in a true sense, if Quebec decided to leave you know Canada won't give up the St.Lawrence corridor. We all ready have the south shore and I am sure we would get the North, even so wouldn't really matter cuz we have the south shore. So that will settle any shipping problems. Regarding timber and Minerals. Well what Quebec actually would get in land is not alot. None of the native land would go, so then we would be left with what Quebec was before they were given more land at the turn of the century. Next think of the value of land in Ontario?? think of the value that a house would jump, with almost 50% of the people wanting to leave, where will they go? Ontario. What will happen to our employment record. I believe it will be far better. All of the gov't jobs will leave the province, much small business will leave and large. Military will be moved. We won't be sending federal funds to Quebec. There are a lot of people on U.I.C, and welfare in this province also. Grant you we would probably get alot of them also. The down side is, I think it shouldn't be left to the people in a particular province to decide. We are Canadians we have the right to live in any province. They belong to us all collectively. So if a vote is to be held the entire country should be involved.
