T> I know nobody is equal. But you get money through a job. And how well T> must you do to get into university? 95% average. Hmm, not many people can T> make that standard. Smart people can, and will. They get in, get a useful T> education, and get a job. The job brings in money. Intelligence = Money. T> I can see where you are coming from. Did you hear about the kid who at 13 T> was just starting university? Well, think of the kind of job he will have. T> A GOOD one. So, in the future, where almost every labour job will be taken YOu basically contradicted yourself there. Yes, the standards for university are becoming increasingly difficult to meet. BUt THAT'S LIFE. The stupid and weak die out, and the strongest of the herd continues. (Social Darwinism) The only way that we as a people will progress is IF the herd is thinned out. Think about it. All the changes in society followed after a certain type of thinking and the people who believed in it were cut out essentially. Take racism in the 50's. The racists ideals were destroyed and racists were a lot less noticeable and accepted. And such, the herd was thinned of most of them. But your point about the fact that only the smart can win at this is worng. If that was teh case every person that goes to University would automatically have a job after that. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now. NOw, experience is most important. Practically speaking, a degree is meaningless to an employer if the person doesn't have teh capacity to use it. A degree is a piece of paper, how you use it is up to you.
T> A little off-the-wall, but still you can see where I am going. Only the T> people who can maintain an extremely high grade in the proper courses will T> be able to have jobs. With the money they make, it may just be enough to T> feed them. In my opinion, we advanced to quickly. To much knowledge could T> be our destruction. Just look at the nuclear bomb. Not necessarily. Knowledge without the ability to utilize it is worthless; a computer without a keyboard is worthless. Do you see where I"m getting at? The changes in society at present dictate the fact that knowledge alone cannot be resposible for people's augmentation in society. They must above all be able to utilize that; because without that capacity, their knowledge is worth nothing.
