3mb a second!??!!?!?!?!? That's just plain bullshit... If it was only running at 3mb a second then the system was fucked or the drive was bad out of the factory.. maybe that's why they are going for 315$.. With the WD 1.2 or 1.6gb drives they do 11mb per second if they are setup correctly.. almost any drive on a DX4 (PCI) will do at least 10mb per second, without any software caching involved.
