Promised? well natives were promised alot, not many were kept so.
And ummm either way both sides lost a war, it tends to be that if you lose
you don't exactly BENIFIT from the war. And i don't see why we would have
to learn native canadian languages when there are what 10+ different ones. so
wee bit pointless.
