Aliens CD

I've gotten into the mining complex on B54c, and I've I've searched around
most of the place, but there's a few things I'm stuck on. Hopefully, someone
can help me out:

-there's a red switch in the same room as where you find the red card and the
spy-bot. I've tried using all of my inventory on it, but it doesn't seem to
do anything. What's the deal with this thing?

-there's a room that has tv screens that show you different areas of the
complex, including a room full of alien eggs. ("so who's laying these
eggs? ;)
On your way out of the room, there's a pile of black disc-like things with
a small green light on them, but when you pick them up, there isn't a
discription for it in your inventory. What are these things, are where do you
and where do you use them?

-this is the biggest one...what exactly is the x-scanner? Williams keeps
mentioning it, but I haven't seen anything that looks like one. Where do
you use the x-scanner mech parts you pick up in the complex vechile garage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
