Well, fortunately for everyone, Parizeau is now 'yesterday's news...'.
as for cry or try - I would much prefer to see them stop 'crying' and start 'trying' - to get on with things and set aside this separatist idiocy once and for all. Right now they have a total mess in that province. The vote was 'no' but it will take months, maybe years for things to settle down again. After the last referendum which wasn't even close, big business, large corporations started moving their head offices out of the province with a resulting loss of jobs for the people of Quebec. This time because of the closeness of the vote and the threats from the government in office of continuing to push for a sovereign state and yet another referendum, the results will no doubt be far worse and more widespread. Just one example - a company called Paris Glove - very large manufacturer, solely based in Quebec, has now contracted agents to investigate business locations in other provinces... after sending out letters of apology to all its customers in the rest of Canada. A large clothing manufacturer in Montreal, apparently lost the major part of it's US orders in the weeks leading up to the referendum, which will probably result in plant closings and the loss of several thousand jobs.
The French speaking population in Quebec may well end up by getting rid of a large number of 'ethnics' who obviously feel under the gun right now, and of course a number of English as well. Unfortunately, with them will go the companies and businesses they have built up over the years that provide work and income for Quebec...
AS I was trying to explain - most of their problems, they bring upon themselves.
